As I write this review I can’t abet but remember when I loved the Rugrats. It was once my current point to in television as a kid. And when the movie came out in theaters I was more furious than anyone would’ve imagined. I was a spacious fan. The TV point to has decreased in quality, but the movie calm remains solid. It introduced a unique character to the series, and to this day composed remains the greatest adventure that the rugrats have gone on.

Didi has recently found out she’s pregnant, and that means Tommy is getting a baby brother. When Tommy’s modern brother Dil is born, things around the house change. Dil begins to receive a bit more attention than Tommy, and he’s always loud and irascible… the plot Tommy venerable to be when he was first born. Phil, Lil, and Chuckie can’t stand him and neither can Angelica.
In the meantime, Stewie has made a recent invention. A Reptar mobile (Reptar is the Rugrats version of “Godzilla” and the babies’ hero) . When Stu and Didi head out for a while, they leave the kids home alone with Grandpa. If you’ve watched the reveal you know Grandpa is not a agreeable baby sitter… he always falls asleep, and that’s what he does here.

The babies study this Reptar mobile and settle to hop inside and play around. Angelica (the rambuncious three year weak brat) is trying to examine her explain and so she is very annoyed. She gives the babies the boot (literally) and the Reptar wagon suddenly slides out the front door. Tommy has minute thought how to control it, and neither do his friends. Phil and Lil, however, don’t sight it as such a awful thing. To them it’s a chance to win new-born baby Dil relieve to the hospital.
With the babies gone, Angelica can finally fetch peace… except there’s a plight. When she gave the babies the boot they took her approved doll Cynthia with them! Now Angelica decides she must gather them, and so she saddles up the family dog, Spike. And Spike ends up running out the front door… dragging Angelica along.
The result? The babies getting lost in the forest far away from home. When the parents net out, they go on a great search for the babies.
I content what got me to really like this movie was the adventure of it. The itsy-bitsy imagination of these babies is astounding! The movie even begins with a limited rendition of “Indiana Jones” as they’re actually exploring thier house. But when they really AREN’T in a spot that’s their home, you can scrutinize unprejudiced how doughty they come by.
Never mind how slow the parents are (they NEVER learn from leaving the babies with Grandpa), the adventure is spellbinding. Especially when Phil and Lil manage to let a bunch of monkey’s capture Dil away. Soon Tommy really IS the one responsible for his brother. The movie is silly in many places, and it’s songs are enlightening. Any child will savor this movie to death.
Unlike it’s sequel, the babies procure into some effort that isn’t too far beyond their control. By that I mean, the Reptar mobile is honest a wagon, and not some Vast Colossal THING DESTROYING THE CITY! This adventure is more Genuine than in the sequel, “Rugrats in Paris”.
And while Dil isn’t the most likeable character, it’s unrealistic to deem he can do as great as the other babies can (he can’t breeze, mind you) . It would encourage if Dil was as adventureous as his brother, but considering he’s only a few weeks dilapidated, we can glean by.
The animation is top notch, and very shiny and vibrant. Grand better than the television exhibit ever was. It’s fair fabulous.
If there were problems I’d say it’s this: It is certainly not a movie for grown ups. If you grew up with the Rugrats as I did, you will probably like this movie. However, grown ups who didn’t grow up with the Rugrats, will be annoyed by their kids loving to discover the film. It is clearly aimed at the younger audience.
It’s a expansive movie. Especially for your kids, and especially for nostalgia. This was an unbelievable movie eight years ago, and remains a sterling movie for your kids today.
I like Rugrats its one of my accepted cartoons and I even judge its better than The Simpsons which is also a righteous cartoon! The Rugrats movie the first of the theatrical movies is not as excellent as the new Carve cartoon but it is resplendent cute and I hought that I woudn’t like the unique character Dil but even though he is not as worthy a chracter as Tommy, Dill is ok. I agree with the last reviewer that Kimi who was introduced in the second movie is not a salubrious Rugrats character. I applaud that the makers of Rugrats decided to add an Asian character but why did they have to construct her so irritating? And she is a copycat character too, she seems to me to be Tommy, Phil, Lil and Angelica all rolled into one tidy annoying person and instead of adding Kimi I wish they had honest made Susie a more mature character or had made Kimi less bad!
